Learn the answers to common questions about Transit and Parking benefit enrollment through Benepass.

How can I tell if my Commuter benefits are managed through my Benepass account?

  1. Log in to your Benepass account (on web or mobile).

  2. Go to your Home or Accounts page.

  3. If you see an option to enroll or update your Commuter benefit, you can manage your enrollment directly in the app.

  4. If you don’t see this option, your employer has not enabled in-app enrollment. In that case, reach out to your HR or benefits administrator to confirm how to manage your commuter benefits.


If my Commuter benefits are managed in my Benepass account, how can I make or change my election?

  1. Go to your Home or Accounts page in Benepass.

  2. If your employer offers Transit, Parking, or both, you’ll see an option to enroll.

  3. Enrollment is open from the 2nd through the 15th of each month.

  4. Any changes you make during that time take effect on the 1st of the following month.

    Example:
    If you update your election between May 2 and May 15, your change will take effect on June 1.

Reminder- you’ll receive:

  • A reminder email when the election window opens.

  • A confirmation email when changes are submitted.


How much can I choose to contribute each month?

You decide how much pre-tax money to contribute each month within a range specified by your employer. Your contribution, plus any amount contributed by your employer, cannot exceed the allowed:


When will I see my Commuter funds available for use?

Your employer determines how contributions are added to your account, and whether funds appear:

  • on the 1st of each month.

  • after payroll deductions are processed, based on your employer’s schedule.

If your funds aren’t available on the expected date, check your selections in Benepass and payroll schedule to confirm.


If my Commuter benefits are managed in my Benepass account, can I update my election at any time?

No, you can only update your commuter election during the 2nd–15th of each month.

Outside that window, your election will be locked until the next enrollment period opens.

Any updates you make take effect on the 1st of the following month.

If you don’t see the option to update your election in the Benepass app, contact your HR or benefits administrator for next steps.


If my Commuter benefits are managed in my Benepass account, am I going to be automatically enrolled?

No, you won’t be automatically enrolled; you’ll need to complete enrollment in the Benepass app.
