To activate any physical Benepass card, you'll need to log into your account and activate it through the Cards page - you can't start using the card until this step is completed.
Before you begin
Have your physical card in hand - you'll need details from the actual card
Make sure the last 4 digits on your physical card match the card you're trying to activate in the app
Steps
To activate a physical card directly from the app or website, follow the steps below:
Log in to your correct workspace
Navigate to the Cards page
Scroll or browse until you see the card you wish to activate
Click or tap to view more details, then click "Activate Card”
If prompted, enter the expiration date and three-digit CVV
What to expect
Once activated, your card is immediately ready for use. You can use it anywhere Visa is accepted. Your card will automatically draw from the best matched benefit based on your purchase.
Benepass and Flex cards will not require a PIN for use, though if you’re using a Flex card or HSA card, you may occasionally be prompted to enter a PIN. If this happens, you can bypass the PIN by either pressing “Enter,” selecting “Credit” if prompted on the terminal, or asking the cashier for assistance.
Troubleshooting
I can't find the matching card in the app
Make sure you are in the correct workspace. You can switch between workspaces by tapping the logo in the upper left corner of the app or website, or by visiting the Settings page and selecting "Switch workspace".
I'm in the correct workspace, but my card isn't showing
If you don’t see your Benepass card, it may be because your benefits haven’t gone live yet. Cards only appear after your program’s launch date.
If your benefits aren’t active yet, no worries — check back on the Cards page once your benefits go live, and your card should appear.
If you’ve confirmed:
You’re in the correct workspace
Your benefits are already live
and you still don’t see your card, please contact Benepass Support for help.
Card won't activate
Verify you're attempting to activate the right card by matching the last 4 digits, and make sure you are entering the correct expiration dates or CVV details. It may take a minute for the activated status to be reflected, so make sure to reload the page to ensure the status has updated fully.
I need to activate my HSA card over the phone
To activate a physical HSA card over the phone, follow the steps below:
Call +1 (844) 909-1619 and follow the prompts
You will need to provide full card details, as well as cardholder information
You may be given the option to set a PIN if you'd like
