Unable to reclassify a transaction following these steps? This typically happens when a transaction fails to meet specific criteria or requires manual review.
Your transaction isn't eligible under the correct benefit
Benepass uses transaction data to determine which benefit your purchase is eligible under. In some cases, the transaction data will indicate the purchase is only eligible under one benefit, when it should be eligible under multiple. This is usually a result of merchant billing information and how they are categorized on the card network.
If your transaction has been misclassified due to merchant billing information, contact Benepass Support. Benepass will review the transaction, ensure the transaction is allowed to be reclassified, and adjust the transaction for you, if applicable.
Your transaction exceeded your available balance under the correct benefit
Benepass cards cannot split a single purchase between multiple benefits or combine benefit balances for one transaction, even if the purchase is eligible under multiple benefits. If your purchase exceeds the balance available in the preferred benefit, the purchase cannot be reclassified until you have sufficient funds to cover the entire purchase amount.
Your transaction was made with the wrong card
In some cases, you may be issued multiple Benepass cards for use with different benefits. If you made a purchase with an incorrect card, you may not be able to reclassify the purchase yourself.
