Commuter Benefits (Transit/Parking)

What is a Commuter (Transit/Parking) benefit?

Commuter benefits allow you to use pre-tax dollars to pay for work-related transit and parking expenses, reducing your taxable income and saving you money on your commute.

There are two types of commuter benefits, each designed to help with different aspects of your work commute:

Transit benefits cover expenses for getting to and from work using:

  • Subway
  • Bus
  • Train
  • Ferry
  • Vanpools (with 6+ passenger seats)

Parking benefits cover expenses for:

  • Parking at or near your workplace
  • Parking at transit stations you use for your commute
  • Parking garages and lots used for work commuting
