When you leave your employer, you may still need to access your Benepass account to submit expenses during a run out period, use HSA funds, or manage other benefits. Your ability to access your account depends on your benefit types and whether you've previously set up a backup email.
What to do
Log in with your backup email
If you previously added a backup email to your Benepass account, your account is automatically updated to allow login using this email.
-
- Navigate to the Benepass app or website (app.getbenepass.com)
- Enter your backup email address
- Select "Login with Email code" to receive a six-digit code
- Enter the code you receive to access your benefits
Once you've logged in, you should see your workspace selector to log in to a prior employment or your Health Savings Account.
Common questions
I didn't enter a backup email or I'm not sure what it is
If you didn't set up a backup email or are having trouble logging in, contact Benepass Support.
-
- Submit a request to Benepass Support
- Provide your full name, former company name, and the email previously associated with your account
- If contacting from a personal email, be prepared to verify your identity. If desired, you may preemptively provide additional details such as your DOB or last 4 digits of an issued Benepass or HSA card in your initial outreach to speed in verification.
- Once you've been verified, your personal email will be granted temporary account access
I don't see any benefits listed under my accounts
Different benefits have different access rules after you've left your employer. If no benefits are visible under your active Accounts page, it means none of your benefits were configured to allow for access after departure.
FSA and Commuter benefits may be configured with run out or grace periods to allow additional time to submit receipts or claim expenses. Typically these periods last no longer than 90 days. You can read more about these periods here: Understanding run out and grace periods
Lifestyle benefits are typically only offered during the period of your active employment. After you've left your employer, these funds are generally forfeited.
