What are Statements?

Statements are bank statements that summarize real money movement in an account in a given month.

What to know

The Unit Statement will report all real money movements in and out of the Unit account in a given month. 

The Benepass Platform Statement will summarize all real money movements on the platform in a given month, including both Stripe and Unit. It outlines the same data that is available via the Account Summary report. 

All statements are completed and posted following the close of each month. Statements are not available for a current, ongoing month.

How to read your Statements

Unit Statement

The Unit Statement will outline all money movement line by line for a given month. The list of transactions will include an opening and closing balance.

Benepass Platform Statement

You'll see the following categories summarized on your Platform Statement, in addition to a starting and closing balance for each account.

• Card Authorization (hold): Sum of all card authorization hold debits against the account
• Card Authorization (release): Sum of all card authorization release credits to the account
• Card Transactions: Sum of all card transaction debits against the account
• Contribution: Sum of all HSA contributions made to employees, represented as debits to the account
• Internal Transfer: Sum of all debits and credits associated with transfers between Unit and Stripe accounts, usually balancing to 0
• Platform Funding: Sum of all incoming funds from external sources
• Reimbursement Payouts: Sum of all outgoing funds to employees for approved reimbursements
