Your employer works with Benepass to create custom benefits tailored to their goals. This includes what kinds of purchases are eligible, but also how much you receive in contributions, and when those funds should expire. To ensure the program is run in alignment with their goals, Benepass does not manually edit or remove expiration and contribution dates or amounts unless specifically requested or approved.
To avoid any complications when spending your funds, we recommend you do not wait until the last minute to use them. For instance, some merchants such as Amazon and other online retailers won't charge your card until the purchase has shipped. If you wait until the last minute, your funds may expire before the merchant fully processes this transaction, which could cause a decline or cause your account to use newer funds to cover the purchase.
Where can I see when my funds will expire?
You can see your upcoming contributions and expirations within our app by navigating to Accounts and viewing the specific Benefit details.
I ran into technical difficulties, what should I do?
If an error or technical issue prohibited successful spending before expiration, reach out to our Support team to explore your options and flag the issue to prevent it from happening again.
I forgot to use my funds on time, is there anything I can do?
If you forgot to use your funds before expiration, Benepass is unable to return those unless there were technical issues on the Benepass side that prohibited successful spending during that time frame.
If you choose to not use or forget to use your funds by their scheduled expiration, any remaining balances will expire. However, you will have a full contribution showing in your account on the next scheduled contribution date!
